      Are you looking for an opportunity to help customers succeed within their business? Are you familiar with AC drive applications in various industries such as Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Pulp & Paper, Marine & Offshore, and Energy? Do you have the desire to work hard with customers’ technical challenges in their applications? Do you have good problem-solving skills with a natural customer-focused mindset? Then you might be our new Field Service & Applications Engineer within Danfoss Drives.

      Together with the team, you will be responsible for providing high-level service and support to our customers and partners. You will take ownership of customer issues and make sure that the customer needs are served. You will play a key role in engaging existing customers and increasing their retention. You will be working with interesting customer applications in energy storage solutions, metal machinery, oil drilling, etc. Your responsibilities will be helping customers with the technical aspect of low-voltage and medium-voltage drives and drive systems.

      This position offers excellent possibilities to develop personal and professional skills. You will be a part of Danfoss Drives - one of the world’s largest variable-speed AC drive manufacturers in the industry. You will be working directly with Danfoss customers and Danfoss product end users. You are expected to demonstrate Danfoss values and behaviors while supporting customers on the customer site or remotely. You are also expected to network in this role with other technical experts at Danfoss Drives. Tight cooperation and proactive communication with sales and other relevant teams is essential to satisfy customer needs both in the pre-delivery and post-delivery phases of the project.

      Job Responsibilities

      Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Successful start-up and commissioning of single drives and drives systems
      • Optimizing drive or drive system performance on a specific customer application
      • Field troubleshooting, repair & on-site support
      • Field performance measurements for customer drive/drive system
      • Provide other field services to customers as assigned
      • Providing application expertise when participating in customer visits with other Danfoss Drives experts
      • Factory acceptance tests
      • Oversee the project delivery at the customer site, site installation & commissioning supervision
      • Provide information from the site in customer documentation
      • Accommodate on-site changes as required with leadership in determining the necessity and complexity of the change
      • Secure signed, approved service report from the customer
      • Document and report any service actions done at the customer site to the Customer/Sales Force
      • Provide feedback about drive or drive system performance on customer installation
      • Assist other Danfoss engineers with technical issues
      • Applications support particularly in the field support aspect
      • Technical training in the area of technical expertise
      • Frequent travel is required
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Background & Skills

      Basic Minimum Qualifications Required
      • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Physics AND/OR 5-10 Years of relevant hands-on experience in AC Drives projects.
      • Experience with pulp & paper, power conversion, energy storage, oil & gas, marine & offshore, mining, or metal processing applications.
      • Knowledge of Drives & Enclosed Drives Systems as related to commissioning complex and demanding applications.
      • Understanding of drive dimensioning, drive controls design, and selection of power and control components is required to understand the proper operation of the drive
      • Knowledge of medium voltage drives systems is an asset
      • Knowledge of PLC systems and various communications protocols is beneficial, but not necessary
      • Working knowledge of UL508A standards. Knowledge of ABS and other standards is beneficial
      • Proficient in EPlan P8 and AutoCAD to quickly create and modify drawing sets containing power, control, and mechanical layouts
